Fast and easy to grow, salad rocket has a spicy flavour but it is alot milder than wild rocket.
Salad rocket is particularly well suited to early and late sowings.
Full of antioxidants, vitamin C and iron it is most often used as a salad leaf but can also be used in cooking in a similar way to spinach.
Direct sow during spring and summer. Harvest the leaves regularly, the leaves will taste more peppery the larger they grow. Rocket will bolt in hot weather.

Rocket is native to Europe and Western Asia
It is part of the mustard family and is well known for its peppery taste which increases with the age of the leaf.
It was widely popular during the middle ages but then fell out of favour for a time, regaining its popular status over recent years.
