Is there a truer scent of summer than the scent of the sweet pea?!

For such a delicate flower they carry the most incredible scent and you know summer has truly arrived when these gorgeous flowers start to bloom!

The sweet pea is a cottage garden favourite and is adored by bees and butterflies! This is a delightful mix of pinks, whites and purples.

Sow the sweet pea seeds into 8cm pots in autumn and in spring. Sow 3 seeds to a pot at around 2cm deep and grow on in a greenhouse. They can also be sown during winter with some heat. Pinch out the tips when there are three or four sets of leaves to encourage bushy growth. Plant out in mid to late spring with supports.
